How Do I Book?
First, request your trip dates to check for availability. Someone will return within two days with all the available accommodations for your desired dates. They will also give an ideal itinerary with more details on pricing and your chosen guide. You can now look forward to your hiking trip when you have approved the given itinerary and placed a 50% deposit. Feel free to call one of our adventure consultants at (239) 888-2726 or Elijah@losterraintours.com with any questions; they are happy to help!
How Far In Advance Should I Book?
We recommend booking at least 3-6 months before the tour dates. For our multi-day events, it’s best to book as soon as possible since they tend to sell out quickly. Sign up for our newsletter here to be the first to know about our trips!
Will Other People be on the Trip?
Although we are open to everyone and anyone joining, we acknowledge that our trips may not be suitable for anyone. This is why we keep our groups small and intimate; it’s easier for our guides to cater to each group and offer a trip that caters to their needs and requests. There is plenty of time to enjoy your company during “Free Time”. We tend to be flexible, and because of that, we, in return, attract other participants who are easy-going and ready to have a good time!
How Many People Will Be Traveling Per Group?
For our event trips, we tend to book 12 guests at a time.
Do You Work With Travel Agents or Travel Trade?
Absolutely! Click here to let our team know what you need!
What Level of Difficulty Should I Expect on These Trips?
Although we tend to set a difficulty grade for each event activity and itinerary, there is always a hiker who underestimates or overestimates their hiking abilities. Our guides are incredibly skilled in understanding guests' physical limits and adjusting the itinerary accordingly. At the end of the day, we are not here to see what you are made of; we only curate experiences that our guests are comfortable with.
Can a Single Book Any Tour?
We do have specific events that cater to single-only hikers, in addition to all the events available to be booked IF there are pre-registered guests. If you book as a single traveler in a shared room, we will pair you with another solo traveler of the same gender for rooming. If that's not your thing, no worries; you can always book as single occupancy.
Should I Get Travel Insurance?
When it comes to things we do not include, like flight cancellations, flight delays, loss of luggage, or theft, we highly recommend purchasing insurance from those providers. We also highly recommend purchasing travel insurance independently and are able to offer recommendations if needed.
How do I know what to wear or prepare for my trip?
We will email an entire packing list with details of temperature and weather expectations for the trip week. You will be included in a Whatsapp group chat with other trip members and your tour guides to help answer any remaining questions. Rest assured, you’ll receive helpful communications from our team about your trip. We tend to be overly detailed in these emails, but please do not hesitate to reach out at (239) 888-2726 or email us at Elijah@lostterraintours.com with any other questions. Our team is incredibly helpful!
Do I Need to Bring a Cash Tip for my Guides?
1A 5% gratuity is included in your ticket price, but you're more than welcome to tip your guides if you feel they have offered a great trip.

Can I Control the Room Arrangements?
Yes, trip prices are mostly dictated by the room arrangement you choose. For example, a Single occupancy indicates that you are willing to pay more for a room to yourself, while a Double Occupancy Shared means you will pay less as a single traveler and are agreeing to share a room with another single traveler of the same gender (typically two per room). If you are traveling with a spouse or friend, you will book a double occupancy for two or a single occupancy for two people. NOTE: We have many different options for accommodations, and if those lodging partners have a certain room arrangement, it will be stated in the details.
What If I See Rain in the Forecast for the week of my trip?
Dont worry! Most of our adventuring is in the earlier parts of the day, and we almost always avoid the afternoon rain. We do provide ponchos, and we advise you to bring appropriate footwear. We often make weather-related decisions if there is a presence of lightning, thunder, or heavy rain. Don’t fret; we always have Plan B, C, and D in our pockets. **We do not refund tickets because of weather predictions unless the team has called the entire trip and notified a refund.
What Should I Wear or Bring on the Hikes?
We will email you a very comprehensive list of what to wear and bring for your trip after you book. Your guides will have your hiking basics, like snacks and hiking poles.
I Can’t Decide on a Tour.
No worries! Give us a call, and we’ll help walk you through. (239) 888-2726
How Hard is the Hiking?
Easy to moderate unless stated otherwise.
Is Transportation Provided?
Yes, unless stated otherwise.
Can I Bring My Dog?
Leashed and well-behaved dogs are welcomed unless stated otherwise. You must notify us ahead of time. Not all our accommodations are welcoming to animals.
Will We Have Phone Service on Our Hikes?
Probably not, but that’s a good thing! True unplugged adventure!
How Do the Deposits Work?
A deposit of $500, or an equivalent amount paid in the currency of the country you reside in, is required to secure a booking. The deposit is non-refundable unless you cancel your trip at least 30 days before the tour date.
Where Do I Find My Trip Balance?
You will find your balance on your invoice. This must be paid for later than 60 days before the tour date. For bookings made within 60 days, you are expected to pay the full balance at booking.
