Lost Terrain's Asheville-Based Hiking Club
We are stoked you found us! As we enter our third-year of the hiking club, we have collaborated with local land and water non-profits like Riverlink and Southern Appalachian Highland Conservancy. That means $10 from your $30 ticket will be donated to whichever nonprofit correlates with that specific hike.

This is perfect for locals or for those who have just moved to the Asheville area and want to get to know the local trails near Downtown Asheville. This is also perfect for visitors who are seeking something more active and explorative—something more intensive than the Pisgah Waterfall Hiking Tour, which is much easier, features shorter miles, and includes transportation from Downtown Asheville.
Difficulty Level
We choose trails that stay at a moderate level of difficulty, ranging from 4–6 miles total. This isn't the hardest hike nor the easiest; it's a perfect in-between. Expect slight inclines and uneven terrain, but if you’re new to hiking, don't get discouraged! These hikes are not intense and we take plenty of breaks.

Meeting Location
We meet at Wrong Way Campground at 10 AM. Carpooling is highly recommended!

The Cost Breakdown of Your $30 ticket
-
$10 goes directly to the correlating non-profits like SAHC and Riverlink.
-
$10 for permits and the expertise of a Blue Ridge Hiking Co. guide.
-
$10 covers the logistics and planning from Lost Terrain.

Dog-Friendly?

Meet Your Guide

Eli Adams
Hiking & Backpacking Guide with Blue Ridge Hiking Co.
Hi hikers! I’m Eli, and this is my third year leading the Asheville Hiking Club. I created this club to offer accessible outdoor adventures that anyone can easily hop onto. As a seasoned guide, I see firsthand how many people want to spend time outdoors but get stumped by the planning process or the intimidation of heading out alone. What is truly special about this club is our partnership with local Western North Carolina conservation nonprofits. A full $10 of your $30 ticket is a direct donation to these organizations, so we are actively giving back to the land we love so much.

Think of me as your local guide, taking you to my favorite spots in the legendary Blue Ridge Mountains and the Pisgah National Forest. I can't wait to hit the trail with you!
This is in Partnership with:
Asheville's original premier guide service. This gives us access to special use permits for trails in Pisgah National Forest, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and other protected areas. When you hike with us, you support local guides, small businesses, and conservation partners protecting Western North Carolina's wild spaces.
Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabins
Our official meeting hub. We gather at Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabins to organize carpools and check in before heading to the trailhead. This location offers space for light carpooling, helping us minimize our footprint at local trailheads. We’ve partnered with them because their focus on the outdoors aligns with our mission. Before or after our hikes, you can visit their Canteen to stock up on water and snacks, browse gifts for nature lovers, or grab a drink with the group once we’re off the trail.
