OVERVIEW:  A 3-day creative writing retreat for women in North Carolina's spectacular Shining Rock Wilderness, where nature and words converge. This backpacking retreat offers an authentic way to find inspiration through hiking and writing in the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains. You'll walk 3-5 miles daily on the Art Loeb Trail, participate in writing exercises and mindfulness practices, and watch the sunrise from Cold Mountain - the peak that inspired Charles Frazier's novel. Our small group (2-6 people) means you'll get direct support from guide Anna Conard, culminating in a group reading atop Black Balsam Knob. Perfect for writers whose inner voice feels crowded out by daily life, or for those seeking fresh inspiration. We cover everything - gear, food, transportation, and a weatherproof notebook - so you can focus on your creative journey while experiencing the trails that have inspired generations of writers.
