I didn’t grow up hiking. When I first started exploring the outdoors, it felt like a world with a lot of unwritten rules and steep learning curves. I created Lost Terrain to break down those barriers.
We aren't here to sell "extreme" adrenaline; we’re here to help you find your footing. Whether you just moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains or are looking to take your first steps into the backcountry, we provide the expertise so you can focus on the experience.
How we run our business

A Fair Way to Book: Most booking sites take a large cut from the people actually doing the work. We never charge our guides a commission. When you book here, every dollar of the guide's fee goes directly to the person keeping you safe and sharing their knowledge on the trail.

Rooted in Conservation: The land provides for us, so we give back. A portion of every Asheville Hiking Club ticket—$10 of the $30 cost—is donated directly to local nonprofits like Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy (SAHC) and Riverlink to protect our wild spaces.
